Fundraiser
BANGOR — A fundraiser for Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine, “Plein Air Paintings: A Beautiful Order Reflecting Peace,” will be held 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the center, 96 Harlow St. The event will include paintings by Kay Carter, Michael Vermette, Nora West and Becky Whight.
‘Mainely Maine’
BANGOR — Thomas School of Dance will present “Mainely Maine” with puffins, moose, lumberjacks and lumberjills, troop greeters and GIs, potato farmers at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 17, and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Peakes Auditorium, Bangor High School, 885 Broadway.
The show celebrates in a variety of dance forms the many faces of the state of Maine.

Art show
ORONO — An art show will take place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Dirigo Pines. Work by artists Lois Main Templeton, Jayne Ledger Bowler, John Lusignan, Sally Arata, Teddi-Jann Covell, Frances Hochmuth, Ann Davidoff, Lewis Michaud, Betty Calkins, Helena Bosse, Rinette Michaud and Barbara Wakeman will be on display and available for purchase. Attendees also may take a tour of Dirigo Pines, with transportation provided. The event is free.
