BANGOR, Maine — Maintenance work in the downtown area will result in several local businesses being without electrical service early Saturday morning.

According to an Emera Maine statement, the service interruption will start at midnight and last until 6 a.m.

The planned outage is necessary to make improvements to the electrical system.

Affected streets include Central, Franklin, Hammond, Columbia and Franklin streets, while affected businesses include Massimo’s Restaurant, Fiddlehead Restaurant, Bangor Savings Bank, Panda Garden, Bangor Outfitters, the U.S. Post Office, Friars Bake House, Central Gallery, Blind Faith Tattoos, Mexicali Blues, Giacomo’s and Epic Sports.
