PARIS, Maine — The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office says Maxx Noble, 27, has turned himself in to police.
Noble had been on the run since Tuesday, when he escaped police custody at a home in Otisfield. Two state troopers arrested him on drug- and firearm-related charges.
Maine State Police said one of the troopers handcuffed Noble, put him in the back of a cruiser, put a seat belt on him and locked the doors. But when the officer went to check on his partner, Noble escaped.
Authorities searched for him throughout the surrounding area, warning residents he was a “desperate man” and was considered dangerous.
Noble’s mother drove him to the Oxford County Jail just after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
An initial court appearance will be scheduled in South Paris District Court. Noble will remain at the Oxford County Jail until then.
