ALFRED, Maine — A Portland man will spend more than a decade behind bars after he was sentenced for multiple sex crimes on Tuesday.
Joseph Flister, 36, was sentenced to 20 years in prison with all but 12 years suspended on five charges of gross sexual assault, five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 charges of violation of privacy, according to the York County District Attorney’s Office.
Flister had allegedly sexually assaulted and illegally videotaped several women in Biddeford from 2012 through 2014
In addition to jail time, Flister also received 12 years of probation, requiring that he register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, have no contact with his victims, submit to random searches for sexually oriented material, complete counseling and treatment as a sex offender and sign releases to his probation officer.
Flister is also prohibited from contacting children under the age of 16 without the written consent of his probation officer and pursuant to a court order. He also is prohibited from accessing the Internet.
