SKOWHEGAN, Maine — Police are searching for a man who held up a local convenience store at knifepoint on Saturday night.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m., a man wearing a black neoprene mask and a dark hooded sweatshirt entered the West Front Street market, threatened the clerk with a knife and demanded cash, according to Skowhegan Police Chief Ted Blais.
The robber fled the store before any cash was taken, Blais said.
Skowhegan police searched for the man with help from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, State Police, Game Wardens and a canine unit from Franklin County, Blais said, but the robber was not located.
In addition to the mask and the hoodie, the suspect, who stands about 6 feet tall and has a thin build, was wearing a sleeveless army camo shirt over his sweatshirt and camo pants.
Anyone with information on the robbery should call Skowhegan police at 474-6386.
