THOMASTON, Maine — A 57-year-old Tenants Harbor man was being held at the Knox County Jail after being accused Friday of exposing himself to a woman in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Robert Demmons was arrested by Thomaston police Sgt. Timothy Hoppe and charged with indecent conduct.

Police Chief Kevin Haj said the department received a call at 7 a.m. Friday about a man exposing himself to a woman who works at Wal-Mart when she was in the parking lot. Hoppe interviewed the woman and arrested Demmons, initially on a probation hold request from Demmons’ probation officer and later on a warrant for indecent conduct.

Details of why Demmons was on probation were not immediately available. He was taken to the county jail in Rockland and remained there Tuesday morning. He is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Rockland District Court on Wednesday afternoon.
