BREWER, Maine — Emera Maine officials are investigating a string of power outages that left more than 2,500 customers without power Monday morning.

The company said in a statement approximately 2,596 customers woke up Monday morning without electricity in several Penobscot County communities.

Shortly after noon Monday, the utility reported all but 14 customers had power restored.

Customers in Brewer, Amherst, Bradley, Clifton, Eddington, Holden, Mariaville and Veazie were affected.

Additionally, system repairs in Addison along Route 187 called for a service interruption, the company said later Monday.

The service interruption was scheduled to occur between 1 and 2 p.m.

All of Beals Island, Jonesport along Route 187, and Main Street from the Addison/Jonesport town line to Greenpoint Cemetery are affected.
