ADDISON, Maine — An emergency power outage is required between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Monday so that Emera Maine linemen safely can make system repairs in the area, according to the utility company.

Emera issued the release about noon Monday and indicated that utility crews were “planning to conduct an urgent outage for system repairs in Addison along Route 187, not including the Addison Grammar School, to the Jonesport/Addison town line including all side roads and the Basin Road, Cape Split, South Addison and Narrows Road.”

The outage also was expected to affect all of Beals Island, Jonesport along Route 187 and Main Street from the Addison/Jonesport town line to Greenwood Cemetery, including all side roads.

The Emera press release states that the outage is “necessary to safely make system repairs in this area.”
