BANGOR, Maine — A traffic stop Wednesday led to the arrest of two local men when police discovered heroin, acid and a large amount of cash in the vehicle they were operating.

Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton said police received a tip that Jason Kimball, 31, and Ryan Hornbrook, 20, were operating a vehicle with drugs in it in the area of Beal College.

Cotton said Officers Brian Smith and Dan Sanborn were able to locate the vehicle on Farm Road early Wednesday afternoon and conducted a traffic stop.

An undisclosed amount of heroin and acid, along with $1,100 in suspected drug proceedings, were located in the vehicle, according to Cotton.

Both men subsequently were arrested. Kimball was charged with trafficking in heroin, a Class C felony, while Hornbrook was booked on a charge of trafficking in schedule drugs, a Class B felony, the sergeant said.

The men were transported to Penobscot County Jail.
