BANGOR, Maine — Several homes in the city’s Fairmount neighborhood had little to no running water Thursday morning due to a water main break, according to officials.
The break affected Silver Road from Graham Avenue South to Webster Avenue, according to Bangor Water District General Manager Kathy Moriarty.
Moriarty said late Thursday morning water has been turned back on in the area, and crews are currently in the process of backfilling the excavation and cleaning.
Moriarty said the initial call came in around 6 a.m.
“Typically it is our older mains in this type of weather,” Moriarty said.
Moriarty expects the roughly 30 affected homes will have little to no running water for most of the morning.
