SANFORD, Maine — Fire destroyed a vacant home on Goodwin Court in Sanford early Wednesday morning. The fire started just before 3 a.m.

No one was inside at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters spent several hours on the scene working to put out hot spots. The fire was under control by about 5 a.m.

There is no word yet on a cause, and firefighters are not sure whether utilities were on inside the home at the time.
