SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — A South Portland man was charged Friday with receiving and sending child pornography.
Wayne Niski, 28, was arrested at his apartment at 15 Bulkeley Road by the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit. He is charged with possession and dissemination of sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 16, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a news release.
The children depicted in the child pornography were between 3 and 9 years old, McCausland said. He said there was no indication that any Maine children were depicted.
At the time of his arrest, Niski was living at the apartment with a woman and her two young children.
South Portland police assisted in the arrest, McCausland said. Niski was taken to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland.
