PORTLAND, Maine — Dozens of people dove into the ocean at East End Beach in Portland on Tuesday morning to raise money for a good cause.
The Saint Patrick’s Day Plunge raises money for the Children’s Burn Foundation.
Following the dip into the chilly water, participating plungers headed to Ri Ra for a free breakfast buffet and a charity auction.
For people celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day in Portland, there is a free ride service to ensure everyone makes it home safely. Nappi Distributors is teaming up with the ride service Home Runners.
They will offer free rides from 10 a.m. Tuesday to 2 a.m. Wednesday for those who are out drinking in the greater Portland area.
