BANGOR — Bangor Toastmasters held its spring club contest on March 18 at Beal College. Paula Baines, contest chairwoman, announced the top finishers of the club’s International Speech and Table Topics contests. In the International Speech contest, each contestant selects the topic of the speech and has five to seven minutes to present a speech. In the Table Topics contest, a topic is given to each contestant. The topic question was: “Who has inspired you and in what way have they done so?” Winners for the International Speech Contest were:

  • First, Mary Hunter, “A Mixed Up Happy Family”
  • Second, Brian Maguire, “On the way to ‘W’ (Woodstock)”
  • Third, Ravi Patel, “Organizing Your Work Desk.”

Table Topics Contest winners were:

  • First, Brian Maguire.
  • Second, Patricia Johnson.
  • Third, Ravi Patel.
