BANGOR — Consider this: A family vacation for four at Disney World sound, a night at Fenway Park and a stay at the 4-star Eliot Hotel, a sail Penobscot Bay on a beautiful summer afternoon, or a travel trip with the University of Maine Hockey Bears?
These are just a few of the items up for bid at United Way of Eastern Maine’s first auction, The Big Night, 5-9 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Spectacular Events Center. The evening will include a silent auction with trips to see the Sea Dogs, Santa’s Village, Story Land and more up for bid; and appetizers, dinner, complimentary beer, cider and wine, gift bags, drawings and more.
Proceeds from The Big Night will be used to bolster the annual fundraising efforts of United Way of Eastern Maine.
Organizers said that successful fundraising at The Big Night is one way to help ensure that United Way of Eastern Maine can sustain its grant funding of more than 55 programs at 36 agencies throughout eastern Maine on which nearly 30,000 people depend.
Tickets are $50 and include a cocktail social with complimentary beer and cider, appetizers, dinner, dessert, entertainment, drawings, gift bags the chance to bid on all silent and live auction items and more. Tickets are available at unitedwayem.org or by calling 941-2800.
