PENOBSCOT, Maine — A man’s body was found ashore on the Penobscot River in Hancock County on Friday, according to Lt. Tim Cote of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.
Cote said the deceased man was believed to have been in the water for a period of time before washing to the shore.
The man’s identity was not disclosed.
The body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office to determine a cause of death.
