BANGOR, Maine — Traffic on Union Street was snarled for a bit Monday afternoon after a collision near Nicky’s Diner.

According to Bangor police, the crash involved two vehicles, one of which was traveling west on Union Street while the other was pulling out of Nicky’s parking lot.

Speed appears to have been a factor in the accident, which forced police to reroute traffic around the mangled vehicles for a short period of time.

Police said three people have been taken to a hospital. Their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

No other information was immediately available.
