GRAY, Maine — Fire danger is expected to remain high throughout the state Thursday, with the entire state under red flag warnings, according to the National Weather Service.

While a dry air mass remains across the area, much-needed rain is in the forecast this weekend, according to the weather service.

Any grass or brush fires have the potential to grow out of control, so anybody considering outside burning should monitor statements from the weather service and state officials.

The red flag warnings are in effect through 8 p.m. Thursday. High temperatures were expected to hover near 80 degrees in some spots.
