The Maine State Golf Association’s scholarship committee has named 15 recipients for awards of $1,500 renewable for up to four years of undergraduate education, the association announced in a news release Friday.
The Maine State Golf Association Scholarship Fund, formerly known as the Maine Caddie Scholarship, has given more than $1,300,000 to help Maine students pay for college since it started in 1950.
The fund has helped more than 500 students hailing from all 16 counties and more than 125 different towns.
Sullivan Tidd of Casco was the top academic performer of the 2015 recipients and also received the Winchenbach Award and an additional $500, one-time grant.
The other recipients are: Parker Walker of Island Falls, Jenna Hallett of Presque Isle, Gavin Dugas of Pittsfield, Robbie Watson of Fort Fairfield, Craig Smith of Falmouth, Thomas Ackerman of Topsham, Taylor Morang of Winthrop, Kelsie Dessent of Fairfield, Ty Cowan of Madison, Thomas Foster of Augusta, Katie Pelletier of Caribou, Henry Laurita of Hope, Drew Long of Rockport and Brody Campbell of Exeter.
A one-time $500 Golf Contributions Award was also presented to Daulton Wickenden of Rockport.
