CLIFTON, Maine — A woman was taken to the hospital Thursday morning after a single-vehicle accident on Route 180, according to state police.

Georgianna Gatcom-Pass, 27, of Ellsworth was traveling north when she apparently lost control of her vehicle, Maine State Police Trooper Chris Hashey said.

The crash occurred a few miles from the intersection of Routes 180 and 9.

According to Hashey, Gatcom-Pass lost control of the vehicle and struck a pair of trees.

The trooper added that Gatcom-Pass was the only occupant of the vehicle. She was taken by ambulance to a Bangor hospital.

In addition to state police, Brewer and Eddington fire and ambulance crews went to the accident.
