BANGOR, Maine — The Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau announced that the third annual Bangor’s Beer Festival, Tap Into Summer, will take place on Saturday, June 20, on the Bangor Waterfront. This year, the festival will debut a companion festival, Wine on the Waterfront, which will take place the night before the beer fest.
Wine on the Waterfront will take place 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 19, on the Bangor Waterfront. The will feature Maine vintners with more than a dozen scheduled to participate. Maine food artisans will be on hand with samples of breads, cheeses and meats. Stesha Cano will perform for the event, and the vintners will be present to discuss their creations throughout the evening.
Bangor’s Beer Fest: Tap Into Summer will offer a session 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, June 20, on the Bangor Waterfront. Nearly two dozen Maine breweries will have brews available for sampling, with The Crown Vics providing live music. A VIP session will take place 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The general session will run 1-5 p.m.
The VIP session will feature special brews from many of the vendors that only will be available for that time period. VIP ticket holders will receive free gifts and have the opportunity to have lunch with the brewers.
Moe’s Original BBQ will be on hand for the VIP session and the general session, and Granny’s Grilled Cheeses and Taco Trio will offer food at the beer fest.
Tickets for both events may be purchased at visitbangormaine.com, or through waterfrontconcerts.com. Tickets also may be purchased in person at Mark’s Music, or on the day of the event. VIP tickets to the beer festival are may be purchased only in advance. Tickets for Wine on the Waterfront are $30 in advance, $45 on the day of the event.
Tickets for Bangor’s Beer Fest: Tap Into Summer are $25 in advance for the general session, or $40 at the gate on the day of the event. VIP session tickets are $50 and are only available in advance.
Both events will operate similar to other tasting festivals, where each attendee will receive a wristband and samples punch card. There will be no admittance to anyone under 21 and special packages are available for designated drivers.
