BRADLEY — Teachers, camp staff and nonformal educators will benefit from an upcoming workshop on teaching conservation and environmental education concepts. This one-day workshop is offered 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, July 20, at the Maine Forest and Logging Museum, also known as Leonard’s Mills, 684 Government Road. The cost for the day is $50, and includes materials and a lite lunch.
Project Learning Tree is an activity-based, supplementary curricula that supports the teaching of conservation and environmental education concepts. Targeting classroom teachers and non-formal educator of K-12 students, activities focus on wildlife and forests and are both interactive and interdisciplinary. As students are intrinsically interested in wildlife, trees and the outdoors, they readily engage in learning. Activities can be infused into everyday school subjects and busy classrooms, as well as busy camp settings. All activities are aligned with national and state curriculum frameworks.
