JAY, Maine — At least two people broke into a home late Sunday night and robbed a 75-year-old man of his collectible coins, wallet and cellphone, the Sun Journal reports.

Jay police told the newspaper that two or possibly three people broke in through the front door to the house, where the 75-year-old man was alone and sleeping.

The victim told police two men entered his bedroom, woke him up, taped his hands behind his back and made him lay face-down while they robbed him, according to the report. A police detective said the intruders told the victim they had a gun.

Police say the man had an extensive coin collection. The value of the stolen items is being calculated. The man, who was not injured in the robbery, managed to free himself and call 911 after the intruders left, police told the newspaper.

Anyone who can identify the people in the photo or has information regarding the home invasion is asked to call the Jay Police Department at 897-6766.
