WALDOBORO, Maine — Hall-Dale and Biddeford each posted semifinal victories Wednesday to advance to the championship game of the Little League baseball state tourney for ages 11-12 at the Clyde L. Sukeforth Field.

Hall-Dale beat Westbrook 12-2 and Biddeford defeated Bangor West 14-4 to set up the 4 p.m. Thursday final.

In the first game, Akira Warren hit a home run and three singles to power Hall-Dale by Westbrook. Ian Stebbins chipped in with a triple and two singles while Logan Dupont added three singles. Sam Scheaffer contributed a double and single while Nick Leighton and Lindsey Bell each singled.

Warren also recorded the pitching win, scattering four hits and a walk while striking out six.

Braden Demers doubled for Westbrook while Kyle McKone, Brady Desjardins and Nick Hutton each added a single.

In the second game, Matt Rouselle homered and doubled twice to spark Biddeford. Tommy Gonneville added two singles while Scott Kelly chipped in with a triple and Liam Donovan had a double. Kurtis Edgerton, Will Harriman and Brady Wildes each added a single.

Carson Prouty and Isaac Bushway each recorded a double for Bangor West while Rhett McDonald and Bryce Lausier each added a single.

On Monday, Hall-Dale shut out Acadian 8-0 as Warren sparked the offense with a home run, double and single. Sam McFarland added two doubles while Stebbins had a triple. Bell, Thomas Trafton and Dupont each contributed a single.

Dupont was the winning pitcher as he combined with Bell and Trafton to hold Acadian to one hit without walking a batter and striking out 10.

AJ Lozano singled for Acadian.

State tourney, 10-11 all-stars

Semifinals set Wednesday

At Kedderis Field in Millinocket on Monday, the Bangor West, Saco, Medomak Valley of Waldoboro and Scarborough all-star teams advanced to the semifinal round of the Little League baseball state tourney for ages 10-11 after the final day of pool play Monday at Kedderis Field.

No. 3 Bangor West will take on No. 2 Saco at 2 p.m. Wednesday and No. 4 Medomak Valley will battle No. 1 Scarborough at 5 p.m., with the winners advancing to Thursday’s championship at 5 p.m.

Scarborough opened Monday’s action with a 17-0 win over Lewiston. Saco then beat Medomak Valley 9-6 and Bangor West topped Downeast Family YMCA of Ellsworth 18-4.

In the first game, three Scarborough pitchers combined on a two-hitter. Peter O’Brien singled twice and doubled to lead Scarborough while Jack Simonton and T.J. Liponis both singled and doubled. Nic Frink chipped in with two doubles and Sam Clark had two singles.

In the second game, Saco was led by John Rohner, who singled three times and Christian Schaffer, who singled and tripled. Kyle Sawyer added a single and double while Mike McLeer and Zac Howe each singled twice.

Jake Bickmore tripled twice to lead Medomak Valley.

In the final game, Jack Perron recorded two doubles and two singles to power Bangor West. Keegan Omlor singled and tripled to spark Ellsworth.
