HERMON, Maine — Steve Kimball of Holden started the 20-lap Roadrunner feature in the 29th position out of 39 cars that lined up for the race, took the lead from Darren Durrell of Newburgh on lap 11, and went on to win the race Wednesday night at Speedway 95.

Durrell took second and Rick Gomm of Dixmont finished a strong third. Points leader Sam Betts of Bradley placed fourth and Jason Trundy, who had a three-race win streak going in the division, finished fifth.

In the Stars of Tomorrow race, Jordan Kimball, Steve Kimball’s son, picked up the win when the top three finishers, Marcus Dunn of Newburgh, Nicholas Cota of Greenfield and Scott Hunt of Glenburn were all disqualified in post-race inspection for weight violations and other rules infractions.

Cody Farnsworth of Orono was then awarded second place and Brady Campbell of Stetson was credited with a third-place finish.

The Modified Enduro feature was stopped after five laps were completed when rain began to fall, making the track too wet for safe competition. The race will resume next Wednesday night at the five-lap mark and will be completed before the beginning of the regular night’s racing.

No stunt race was run due to the track conditions.
