BREWER, Maine — A local man wanted on a warrant was arrested Thursday night — less than an hour after the Brewer Police Department posted his mugshot on its Facebook page.
James Kearns, 47, of Brewer was arrested at his workplace shortly before 9 p.m. on an active warrant for failure to appear in court for a charge of operating after revocation of his driver’s license, Brewer police Capt. Chris Martin confirmed Friday.
“His arrest was a result of a tip received by someone who saw the Brewer PD post from earlier in the evening,” Martin said.
Officer Eduardo Benjamin made the arrest, Martin said.
The post was shared nearly 60 times before police announced Kearns’ arrest.
Kearns was released on bail Friday afternoon after an appearance before a judge at the Penobscot County Judicial Center, a Penobscot County Jail official said.
