BREWER, Maine — Three people were arrested Wednesday while police investigated a suspected methamphetamine lab at a South Main Street residence, according to police.
Arrested and charged with aggravated methamphetamine trafficking were Jennifer Beaulieu, 21, and Benjamin McGary, 22, both of Brewer, and Adam Freeman, 29, of Hampden, according to Deputy Chief Jason Moffitt of the Brewer Police Department.
In addition to the drug charge, Beaulieu has been accused of violating her probation. Information about why she is on probation was not available late Wednesday.
The trio remained Wednesday night at the Penobscot County Jail unable to post $5,000 cash bail, according to jail personnel. All are scheduled to appear before a judge Friday at the Penobscot Judicial Center.
Brewer police and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency officials executed a search warrant about 10:30 a.m. at an apartment at 441 South Main St., according to Moffitt.
The warrant was the result of a joint investigation into methamphetamine trafficking at the residence, Moffitt said. The MDEA’s Clandestine Laboratory Team was called in to assist in the investigation and the cleanup as evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing was found.
The case remains under investigation, according to Brewer police.
If convicted, Beaulieu, McGary and Freeman each face up to 30 years in prison and fines of up to $50,000.
