BATH, Maine — Two local men were arrested Wednesday evening following a fight at an apartment on Court Street.

Bath police and deputies from the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office went to an apartment building at 45 Court St. at 5:45 p.m. to investigate a report of a fight. When they arrived, officers found Logan Sewall, 30, of Bath outside the building, holding two knives and yelling toward the apartment building, according to a release from Bath police Chief Michael Field.

Sewall, whom Field said was “agitated,” eventually complied with commands that he drop the knives and drop to the ground. He was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

At that point, 43-year-old Robert McKenney of Woolwich began yelling out of an apartment window, threatening officers and Sewall, police said. After McKenney ignored several warnings, police arrested him.

According to Field, police later learned McKenney allegedly assaulted Sewall and threatened him with a baseball bat, prompting Sewall to fear for his life and grab the knives.

While at the police station, McKenney became “very uncooperative,” spitting at and threatening officers before being placed in a “spit mask.”

He was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony; misdemeanor assault; and disorderly conduct. McKenney remains in Two Bridges Regional Jail on $1,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in West Bath District Court on Oct. 13.

Sewall was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in West Bath District Court on Oct. 6.
