BANGOR, Maine — City police are investigating a Thursday night robbery at the Motel 6 on Hammond Street, according to Lt. Bob Bishop.

Bishop said the robbery was reported shortly before 10 p.m.

The suspect, a white man, threatened a motel employee, saying he had a weapon, but one was not brandished, according to Bishop.

The robber fled the motel on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber is heavyset, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall, has dark hair and a beard. He was wearing a red T-shirt and a baseball cap.

Anyone with information on the case should call Bangor police at 947-7384 and speak to Detective Tim Shaw at extension 5740 or Detective Josh Kuhn at extension 7394.
