AMITY, Maine — A woman was injured Sunday evening when her vehicle struck a moose head-on on Route 1, Maine State Police said in a press release.
Adreanna Phillips, 18, of Danforth was heading south when the moose entered the road shortly before 9 p.m., Sgt. Josh Haines said.
Phillips was unable to avoid the moose and her 2001 Toyota Camry suffered substantial front-end damage, Haines said.
Phillips’ injuries were not considered life-threatening and she was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital following the accident. She was wearing a seat belt, Haines said.
