BANGOR, Maine — Four men and a woman are facing felony drug charges after a heroin bust on Thursday night at an Essex Street residence, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency announced Friday.

Arrested were the following individuals: Dionhaywood Blackwell, 31, of New Haven, Connecticut; Vincent Berube, 50, and William Berube, 48, both of Baileyville; and Daniel Lyons, 41, and Laura Lyons, 29, both of Bangor, according to a statement issued by the MDEA.

Over the last six months, drug agents have been investigating alleged heroin activity at the Essex Street residence owned by the Lyonses, who are married. A number of undercover heroin transactions were conducted at the residence, the statement said.

On Thursday night, drug agents and Bangor police executed a search warrant on the residence, which led to the alleged seizure of 30 grams of heroin, $12,000 in cash and a sawed-off shotgun. Over the course of the investigation, about 50 grams of heroin with a street value of $15,000 have allegedly been seized.

Blackwell was charged with aggravated trafficking in a schedule W drug, a Class A felony, while the Berube’s and the Lyons’ were charged with unlawful trafficking in a schedule W drug, a Class B offense, according to the statement.

All five suspects were taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
