FORT KENT — Lea Pelletier’s unassisted goal at 29:56 of the first half was the game winner as the Warriors picked up a pointworthy 1-0 girls soccer win over rival Madawaska on Wednesday.

Fort Kent (4-8-1) goalkeeper Morgan Roy stopped 10 of 13 Madawaska shots while Alexis Levesque made eight saves on 10 shots for the 10-2-1 Owls.

Penobscot Valley 4, Lee 0

At Howland, Penobscot Valley improved to 12-0 by defeating Lee Academy as the two teams battled through muddy field conditions.

Amy Hallett scored twice for the Howlers while Ryley Buck and Tori Watts each netted one goal and Taylore Crawford had an assist. Sami Ireland played goal for PVHS but the Howler defense didn’t require her to face a shot.

Amber Wilcoxson finished with 14 saves on 25 shots for the Pandas.

Penquis Valley 5, Piscataquis 4

At Guilford, freshman Cymeria Robshaw scored the game winner on an overtime breakaway for Penquis Valley of Milo.

Penquis’ Kelsey Robinson opened the scoring in the first half on an assist by freshman Camryn Rolfe. PCHS’ Lucinda Wingert answered off Lexi Harris’ assist. Seiena Siebert scored assisted from Kelsey Robinson for the Patriots to make it 2-1 before Harris scored two unanswered goals, both on assists from Wingert, to put the Pirates up 3-2 at the half.

Rolfe scored the next two goals on Alyssa Murano’s assists to put the Patriots 4-3 before PCHS sophomore Erin Speed tied the game on Wingert’s assist with 1:08 left in regulation.

PCHS goalie Haylee Patterson made 10 saves on 19 shots. Penquis goalie Jordan Durant had 13 saves on 18 shots.

Schenck 2, Mattanawcook 1

At Lincoln, Samantha Falone’s goal at 17:27 of the second half gave the Wolverines the victory.

Nicole Chasse scored on a penalty kick at 15:22 in the first half to give Schenck the lead at halftime. Katie Tolman tied the game at 34:35 of the second half for Mattanawcook.

Schenck goalie Taylor McLaughlin made 11 saves on 14 shots. Symone Malbaurn made 13 saves on 17 shots for 5-6 Mattanawcook.

Brewer 2, Lawrence 0

At Fairfield on Tuesday, Courtney Pearson scored an unassisted goal in the first half to propel the Witches to the victory.

Gretchen Wright added an insurance goal from a Haley Robertson assist for 8-5 Brewer and goalie Mikayla Henderson turned away all 30 shots she faced.

Kayla Spencer made 16 saves on 27 shots for Lawrence.

Boys Soccer

Fort Kent 7, Madawaska 0

On Senior Night at Fort Kent, senior Ryan Chasse scored five times and assisted on two other scores to propel the Warriors to victory over Madawaska.

Seniors Brandon Theriault and Trevor Carer each added a goal and Theriault picked up three assists for Fort Kent.

Senior goalie Chris Daigle combined with Reece Pelletier to make five saves on seven shots for 11-1-1 Fort Kent. Max Gendreau made 12 saves on 36 shots for 3-10 Madawaska.

Fort Fairfield 8, So. Aroostook 0

At Fort Fairfield, Yoni Majia had three goals and three assists to pace the Tigers.

Landon Kinney added two goals while Chris Giberson, Jonah Daigle and Jared Harvey each scored once and Isaac Cyr conributed two assists and Ryan Player had one assist.

Noah Altvater and Steve Rackliffe combined for 18 saves in goal for Southern Aroostook.

Winslow 8, Belfast 2

At Belfast, Jake Houghton and Jake Warn each scored twice to lead Winslow to a rain-soaked victory.

Noah Dugal, Jimmy Fowler, David Selwood and Cody Doughty also scored for the Black Raiders.

Skylar Perkins had a goal and an assist for Belfast, while Sean Kennedy added a goal for the Lions and Garrett Hamlin contributed an assist.

Max Lewis made 14 saves on 25 shots for Belfast, while Winslow goalie Jake Lapierre made five saves on nine shots.

Field Hockey

Brewer 1, Bangor 0

At Brewer, MJ Sellers scored the winning goal in the second half off an assist from Hannah Smith to defeat the Bangor Rams.

Brewer (6-8) goalie Michele Maybury had five saves on six shots. Bangor (1-13) played a strong defensive game in the loss, led by goalie Mikayla Hutchinson with seven saves on 17 shots.

JV: Bangor 1-0

Central 3, John Bapst 0

At Corinth, Kaitlyn Pinkham, Taylor Randall and Chelsea Noddin each scored a goal and Hannah Weeks contributed an assist for the Red Devils.

Central goalie Makayla Boudreau made five saves on six shots, while John Bapst’s Samantha Cole made nine saves on 12 shots.

Piscataquis 1, Orono 1

At Guilford, Orono and PCHS battled to a 1-1 tie through double overtime.

Lauren Cyr opened the scoring for 4-10 Orono with an unassisted goal with 14:49 left in the first half.

Bailey Woodard scored for the 9-5 Pirates off an assist from Jordynne Littlefield with 18:07 left in the second half to tie the match.

Maiah Cyr made 12 saves on 15 shots on goal for Orono while Sydney Marden had 10 saves on 12 shots for PCHS.

Dexter 7, Stearns 0

On Senior Day at Dexter, senior Kolby Kain recorded four goals and two assists to lead the Tigers to victory over Stearns.

Senior Katie Batron added two goals and an assist. Sisters Abby and Kaitlyn Webber combined for a goal and six assists.

In goal for 12-2 Dexter, Kaitlyn Paquin stopped all six shots she faced. For 8-6 Stearns, Angela Guy had 14 saves on 29 shots.
