ROCKPORT, Maine — Pen Bay Healthcare announced Wednesday the start of its CarePartners program for Knox County to help people without health insurance who have trouble paying for health care, medications and other services.

To be eligible for CarePartners, individuals must be between the ages of 19 and 64 years old with a household income less than 175 percent of the federal poverty level. For example, a household income for a family of four would need to be $42,438 or less.

With a CarePartners card, patients have access to services at Pen Bay Healthcare and other MaineHealth hospitals at low or no cost. In addition, CarePartners will help patients obtain medications through pharmaceutical company-sponsored prescription assistance programs and assist with referrals to other beneficial services.

To learn more about the program or to schedule an appointment, contact Juanita Palmer, resource and referral specialist, at 921-3967. The CarePartners office is located at the Pen Bay Healthcare Picker Family Resource Center at 756 Commercial St. in Rockport.
