BANGOR, Maine — The city’s winter parking rules came into effect on Sunday, and Bangor police are making the public aware.
Vehicles cannot be parked on a public street between midnight and 6 a.m., and the alternate side parking rules are also in effect, in which vehicles must park on a side with odd-numbered addresses on odd-numbered days, and vice versa.
In addition, vehicles cannot be parked on the street during snow removal periods.
“Nov. 1 was a tough day. Now we cannot just park where we please. There are rules. We are older. Roll up the windows and turn off the Don Henley music. It’s chilly,” Sgt. Tim Cotton wrote in a posting on the department’s Facebook page.
Vehicles in violation may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
