PORTLAND, Maine — An apartment building that caught fire in Portland Saturday night damaged at least three units but residents escaped without injury.

The Portland Fire Department responded to the blaze at 165 Brackett St., and the street was closed as crews fought the blaze.

No injuries were reported but one dog perished in the blaze, according to the Portland Fire Department.

Officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire, which damaged three apartments.

The Red Cross is assisting three families displaced by the blaze.
