BANGOR, Maine — City police Thursday released the names of two women involved in a Tuesday collision on Route 2 that injured a Penobscot County sheriff’s deputy.
Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton said in an email the driver of the sedan was Barbara Warren-Dunbar, 39, of Brewer and her passenger was Joy Levesque, 41. Levesque’s hometown was not available. Both women were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Cotton said no other details on the crash were available Thursday morning as the investigation continues.
Penobscot County Sheriff Troy Morton said Wednesday the deputy, Frank Jennings, who patrols Hermon, suffered bumps and bruises in the crash but otherwise was OK.
According to Morton, the deputy was traveling west on the road known locally as outer Hammond Street when Warren-Dunbar’s eastbound vehicle apparently crossed into the westbound lane and struck Jennings’ patrol sport utility vehicle.
A spokesman at Eastern Maine Medical Center said the women’s conditions were not available.
