JAY, Maine — A Jay woman was killed when her vehicle and another collided head-on on Route 140, also known as Intervale Road, on Thursday afternoon.
When police arrived they found 45-year-old Tina Dolloff unresponsive in her vehicle. Police initiated CPR and attached an automated external defibrillator until a NorthStar EMS Ambulance arrived.
Dolloff was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say 17-year-old Spencer Brennick of Jay was the driver of the second vehicle. His passenger was 17-year-old Thomas Young of Livermore Falls.
Both teenagers were taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington for further medical evaluation, with initial reports of head and wrist injuries, according to police.
It was later discovered that one of the juveniles had a small tear in his lung, but it did not appear to be life-threatening.
Police say the operator of one of the vehicles involved called 911 to report the 2:42 p.m. crash and to report that another vehicle had crossed into his lane and struck him head-on.
Maine State Police crash reconstruction specialists examined the scene. The investigation determined that Dolloff was driving west in a 2008 Nissan Rogue and crossed the centerline, entering the wrong lane of travel while attempting to navigate a gradual curve in the roadway. Police say a 2005 Audi A4 traveling east was struck head-on.
Police say at the time of the crash, Dolloff’s driver’s license was revoked with a habitual offender status. There was an active warrant for her arrest for operating after revocation, originating from an incident two days prior when she failed to stop for law enforcement in Jay.
The crash investigation was pending toxicology results from the drivers of both vehicles, which is standard protocol in fatal accidents. Speed did not appear to be a factor.
