PARIS, Maine — A school bus for School Administrative District 17 burst into flames Friday morning while parked at a bus garage parking lot, school officials said.

The bus had just finished its run of picking up high school, middle school and elementary school students in Waterford, assistant superintendent Patrick Hartnett said.

No students or staff were ever in any danger, and the bus was not running when it caught fire, Hartnett said.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly, and Hartnett said it’s likely the bus will not be repairable.

Officials are investigating the incident.
