BANGOR, Maine — A local man pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor on Friday in U.S. District Court, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
Andy Quinn Goodall, 28, will be sentenced at a later date. He faces between 15 and 30 years in prison.
Goodall also faces a fine of up to $250,000 and between five years and life on supervised release.
According to court documents, Goodall would take photos of minors, upload them to a foreign website and provide links to the images in emails sent to others.
The investigation that led to Goodall’s arrest began in August 2015 after an agent with Homeland Security Investigations, who was monitoring a website where child pornography was traded, traced pictures of a young boy and girl to Goodall’s IP address, according to the complaint.
When interviewed by investigators on Sept. 22, Goodall allegedly confessed to taking photos of naked children and children in their underwear. He also admitted to sexually assaulting a child, the complaint said.
Goodall gave investigators the names of five victims between the ages of 2 and 13, according to the complaint. He allegedly said he was sexually attracted to adult women as well as girls between 13 and 18 and used the photographs he took of younger children to trade for pictures of teenage girls.
The case was investigated by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, Bangor police and the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
