LEWISTON, Maine — A suspected meth lab was found in downtown Lewiston on Friday, according to authorities.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Lewiston police secured the area near Apartment No. 203 at 333 Lisbon St. and about 20 people were evacuated from the building. Motorists were asked to avoid the area.
Authorities were following up on reports of meth manufacturing at the apartment, according to McCausland. Two people were taken into custody and were being questioned.
This is the sixth time this year that MDEA has investigated a meth lab report, according to McCausland.
