Alexa “Lex” McAllister, who appeared as a contestant on “The Bachelor” in 2010, died early Tuesday of an apparent suicide after a drug overdose, police confirmed. She was 31.
A Columbus, Ohio, police spokesperson confirmed that authorities responded to a call at about 2 p.m. Saturday, with the caller indicating that McAllister had overdosed on prescription pills. She was brought to a hospital in stable condition but was pronounced dead at 2:39 a.m. Tuesday.
McAllister appeared on season 14 of ABC’s “The Bachelor,” widely considered by fans to be one of the favorite seasons. The season featured pilot Jake Pavelka. McAllister was eliminated from the show after the first week.
She was 25 when she appeared on the show. Since being eliminated on “The Bachelor,” the Ohio native worked for a financial planning company.
