CASCO, Maine — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victims involved in a crash on Route 302 on Wednesday that claimed the life of a Harrison man and left a commercial truck driver from Westbrook with serious injuries.
Killed in the collision was Adam Perron, 22, who was driving a 2009 Pontiac Vibe, Capt. Don Goulet of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Perron was pronounced dead at the accident scene, which Goulet said was in the Watkins Flats area.
Suffering serious injuries was Joshua McNally, 31, who was driving a 20-13 Isuzu box truck registered to Native Maine Produce and Specialty Foods of Westbrook. He was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
According to Goulet, the crash happened about 1:15 p.m. when McNally, who was traveling east, swerved into the path
of Perron’s westbound vehicle, striking Perron’s vehicle on the driver’s side.
McNally’s vehicle continued down over a small embankment
and rolled onto its side, Goulet said. McNally was ejected and as the truck rolled, McNally was pinned underneath it.
Members of the sheriff’s office’s Accident Reconstruction Team and Criminal Investigation Team and the Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit are investigating the crash. The cause had yet to be determined as of Wednesday night.
