FRYEBURG, Maine — Local police with the help of their counterparts in New Hampshire arrested a Granite State man in connection to a Sunday afternoon robbery at a Fryeburg gas station.
John Chilafoe, 36, of Conway, New Hampshire, was charged with felony robbery and being a fugitive from justice, police said.
Chilafoe allegedly entered the Mobil On The Run around 1 p.m. Sunday and demanded money from the clerk, according to police. When the clerk refused, Chilafoe went around the counter and took money from the register and fled, police said.
The clerk was not injured.
Police in Conway, New Hampshire, assisted Fryeburg police with apprehending Chilafoe.
