HAMPDEN, Maine — A woman suffered burns when a fire Monday evening destroyed her home at Hampden Trailer Park on Main Road North. The state fire marshal’s office has been asked to help investigate.
The woman, who resided in the mobile home at Lot 1, was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment of her injuries, Hampden fire Lt. Dan Pugsley said at the scene. Her name and age were not immediately available.
The mobile home directly behind the woman’s also was damaged when the siding was melted in spots.
Pugsley said the fire was reported shortly after 7 p.m. and traffic on U.S. Route 1A temporarily was halted so that crews could bring water lines to the scene from a hydrant across the road.
