PORTLAND, Maine — A local man was injured late Tuesday after being struck by a moped on Brighton Avenue, according to police.
David Burnham, 52, was walking across the street around 8:35 p.m. when he was struck by a 2007 Honda moped driven by Kelly McGovern, 36, also of Portland, a statement from Portland police said.
Burnham suffered serious injuries and was taken to Maine Medical Center for treatment. McGovern was not injured.
Brighton Avenue was partially closed to traffic for a short period of time.
The crash remains under investigation.
