BREWER, Maine — A 40-year-old local man is facing multiple charges after making threats against several people filing a complaint against him at Brewer’s police station on Wednesday, according to police.

Jarrod Williams, 40, has been charged with terrorizing, refusing to submit to arrest, violation of bail and disorderly conduct, Brewer police Capt. Chris Martin said Thursday.

Martin said a group of people had arrived at the police station Wednesday morning to file a complaint against Williams. Martin did not disclose what the complaint was about.

Williams allegedly showed up in the parking lot shortly after and yelled, swore and threatened the group, Martin said, despite being warned repeatedly by police to leave the property.

Williams refused to do so, and when police tried to place him under arrest, he reportedly got into his vehicle and tried to drive away. However, police were able to deploy a Taser on him and put him in custody.

Martin said Williams also threatened arresting officers.

Williams had a brush with the law last year, as he was arrested by Bangor police after allegedly threatening softball umpires during a Little League game played in Bangor.

Williams was brought to Penobscot County Jail after his arrest.
