BANGOR, Maine — Sam Huston and Andrew Hillier combined for three doubles, a triple, five RBIs and four runs scored to lead Coffee News of Bangor to a Zone 1 Senior American Legion baseball victory over Penquis at Mansfield Stadium on Wednesday.
Kyle Stevenson and Peter Kemble added two hits each and scored four runs, while Nick Cowperthwaite added an RBI double. Matt Smith picked up the win, pitching 4 2/3 innings of one-run relief.
Brooks Law led Penquis with a double, a single and an RBI. Nate Church added a double and a single, while Nick Dexter singled twice. Tanner Strout and Ryan Vienneau each had an RBI single.

At Hampden, Nick Guerrette pitched eight strong innings as R.H. Foster of Hampden posted a Zone 1 victory over Brewer.
Troy Reynolds who pitched a scoreless ninth for the winners, who received a two-run home run from Conner Farmer and two hits from Jackson Gilmore.
Logan Rogerson collected five singles to spearhead the Brewer attack.

At Heddericg Field in Brewer on Tuesday, Kyle Moore singled with the bases loaded and two outs to score Matt Pushard and Alex Maxsimic as the Falcons earned their first Zone 1 victory of the season.
Brooks went the distance, scattering six hits, giving up three earned runs with six strikeouts and two walks. Pushard and Jack Corey each singled twice for Brewer, while Kobe Rogerson and Maxsimic posted two-run singles.
Hank Vinall singled twice for Trenton, which also received a two-run single from Connor McGuire and an RBI hit from Garrison Looke.

At Colby College in Waterville, Jared Cunningham singled home Trevor Gettig with two outs in the bottom of the 13th inning, lifting Post 51 of Oakland to a season-opening Zone 1 victory over Brewer.
Derek Bowen tripled, singled and drove in a run for the winners, while Jacob Trask singled twice and pitched eight innings of five-hit ball, allowing only two earned runs with five strikeouts and two walks. Cunningham added another RBI.
Kobe Rogerson paced Brewer with a double, two singles and two runs scored. Jack Corey singled twice with an RBI and Alex Maxsimic chipped in with an RBI single.

At Colby College in Waterville, Adam Turcotte’s two-run double was among the key hits as Post 16 of Skowhegan earned a Zone 1 win over Post 51 of Oakland.
Dustin Crawford picked up the pitching win, spacing nine hits and three runs over seven innings with four strikeouts and two walks. Chase Malloy hit a two-run single, Cody Laweryson stroked a run-scoring triple and Evan Bess provided a sacrifice fly for Skowhegan.
Jake Trask hit an RBI double and Dan Pooler had an RBI groundout to support losing pitcher Josh Joy for Post 51.
