PARSONSFIELD, Maine — A local man drowned Saturday afternoon in Long Pond, York County officials confirmed.
The victim was identified as 24-year-old Damian Campbell.
On Saturday afternoon, York County Sheriff’s Deputies, Sacopee Rescue, Fryeburg Rescue and the Maine Warden Service went to the Long Pond boat launch area after a report of a someone floating in the water.
Rescue units attempted lifesaving measures for about one hour, but they were unable to resuscitate Campbell.
