SULLIVAN, Maine — A man who was pulled from a Sullivan quarry last week has died, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
The state medical examiner’s office notified police that Jeremiah Moon, 26, of Surry, had died at Eastern Maine Medical Center on Sunday, according to Maj. Richard Bishop of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
A cause of death was not disclosed.
Moon apparently had been swimming at the quarry Thursday afternoon when he didn’t resurface and was pulled from the water by bystanders.
The incident remains under investigation.
