Firefighters say a family is displaced in Orono after a fire caused significant smoke, water and heat damage. The family lost their dog in the fire and a cat is still missing.
The family was not home at the time of the fire. The fire was spotted by passers-by around 7:30 p.m.
The home is located at 110 Penobscot St. in Orono.
The fire remains under investigation.
